Free de-addiction medical camp organised to encourage youth to stay away from drugs
Amritsar, August 10 (K.L. Jit Walia): With the objective of strengthening the ongoing campaign against drug abuse in Punjab, Pastor Welfare All Mission India (Regd.) organised a free de-addiction medical camp under the leadership of its International President Bishop Sant Balwinder John. Local youth, devotees and pastors participated in the camp and conveyed a strong message against drug abuse.
Speaking on the occasion, Bishop Sant Balwinder John said that Pastor Welfare All Mission India is contributing to the efforts being undertaken by the Punjab Government and Punjab Police to combat drug abuse. He said drug addiction does not affect only an individual but also has an impact on the entire family and society. Therefore, all sections of society need to work together to protect the younger generation from drugs.
He said the mission organises free de-addiction medical camps from time to time to provide assistance and proper guidance to people struggling with drug addiction. He appealed to young people to stay away from drugs and channel their energy towards constructive activities such as education, sports, employment and social service.
Bishop Sant Balwinder John further said that along with anti-drug awareness, the mission is also encouraging people to plant more trees and contribute towards environmental protection. He said that a healthy society requires not only a drug-free environment but also a clean and green environment.
During the camp, pastors and office-bearers of the mission also pledged to continue working to create awareness against drug abuse and help connect young people with the mainstream of society.
