Beas, August 7 (Amritpal Singh Shahpur): Development works in the town of Rayya have gained momentum. In view of the difficulties being faced by commuters and concerns regarding their safety, Market Committee Rayya Chairman and President of Nagar Panchayat Baba Bakala Sahib, Surjit Singh Kang, has appealed to people to exercise caution while travelling through the ongoing construction areas.
Chairman Kang said that during the monsoon season, water drainage on the roads of Rayya had become a major issue. To address the problem, sewerage work is currently underway from Rayya Road to Ferozepur Road. Deep excavation has been carried out on the road for laying the sewerage line, creating a potential risk of accidents for commuters and motorists.
He appealed to vehicle drivers to exercise extreme caution while passing through the work area. Motorcycle and other two-wheeler riders, in particular, have been advised to drive slowly and carefully to avoid any untoward incident.
He further said that the Amritsar-Jalandhar Highway also passes through Rayya, while construction of a bridge is currently underway, causing traffic-related difficulties for commuters. People should therefore remain especially cautious while passing through construction zones.
Chairman Surjit Singh Kang appealed to local residents to cooperate with the ongoing development works and said that no effort would be spared in the development of Rayya town. He assured that every possible effort would be made to provide better facilities to the people of Rayya.
