Amritsar, August 8 (R.K. Soni): A grand ‘Hariyali Sawan 2026’ programme was organised by House of Dori (A Unit of Dress Me) at a renowned hotel in Amritsar. A large number of women participated in the event and celebrated the festival of Teej with traditional and cultural fervour.
During the programme, women enjoyed swings, music and traditional performances associated with the Sawan season, including Giddha and Bhangra. The entire venue was filled with the vibrant colours of Punjabi culture, the festive spirit of Sawan and the enthusiasm of Teej.
Speaking about the programme, Neeru Sabarwal, Dr. Sharya Sabarwal and Riya Sabarwal said that the younger generation is gradually becoming disconnected from its rich heritage and traditional festivals. They emphasised that festivals like Teej are an important part of our cultural identity and that preserving these traditions and passing them on to future generations is the need of the hour.
They said that the primary objective of ‘Hariyali Sawan 2026’ was to reconnect people with their heritage, culture and traditional festivals. During the event, women walked the ramp in colourful Punjabi traditional outfits, showcasing their creativity and confidence.
Winners of various competitions, including Best Makeup and Best Dressing, were honoured with gifts. The women present at the event appreciated the initiative and said that such programmes play an important role in connecting the younger generation with its cultural roots.
