Prominent personalities from various fields honoured during the Global Punjab Conclave
Phagwara, July 30 (K.L. Jit Walia): The Iconic Punjabi Awards–2026 and the Global Punjab Conclave were successfully held at The Cabbana Resort, Phagwara. The grand event brought together distinguished personalities from the fields of religion, politics, social service, sports, healthcare, industry, information technology, journalism, and arts.
The chief guest was Sant Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa, head of Damdami Taksal. A special delegation led by renowned economist Dr. Muhammad Ali Hatawi, Director in the Office of His Highness Sheikh, UAE, also attended the event.
Among the distinguished guests were Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan, former Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, MLA Jarnail Singh, MLA Pargat Singh, Dr. Pradeep Baba Madhok, and several eminent political, religious, and social leaders.
During the award ceremony, several renowned personalities from India and abroad were honoured for their outstanding achievements. One of the highlights was the recognition of National Under-17 Lawn Tennis Champion Jagteshwar Singh Sandhu, who received The Iconic Punjabi Award–2026 at the Global Punjab Conclave for his exceptional contribution to sports and for bringing pride to Punjab through his remarkable achievements.
This honour has brought immense pride not only to his family but also to the entire state of Punjab.
Other awardees included Dr. Varinder Singh Bhullar, Navdeep Singh Bhatti, Sardar Amardeep Singh Gill, Kul Sidhu, Sonia Mann, Dhadi Bibi Daler Kaur Khalsa, Virasat Sandhu, Mahi Sharma, IAS Lachhman Singh Maluka, wrestler Kartar Singh, hockey player Harjeet Singh, Indian women’s hockey player Gurjit Kaur, Dr. Dinesh Aulakh, Dr. Ramandeep Kaur, Dr. Parmpreet Singh, and many others for their significant contributions in their respective fields.
The Global Punjab Conclave also featured discussions on key issues related to Punjab’s social, economic, educational, agricultural, and developmental progress. Experts from various sectors shared valuable suggestions for making Punjab stronger and more progressive.
The successful organization of the event was credited to the DIB Events team. The event proved to be an important initiative in promoting Punjabi talent globally and bringing the Punjabi community together on a common platform.
