Amritsar, July 22 (K.L. Jit Walia):To promote environmental conservation and encourage social awareness, representatives of PFHR (People for Human Rights) honoured DCP (Investigation) Ravinderpal Singh Sandhu of Amritsar. During a courtesy meeting, the organization’s Chief, Dr. Charanjit Singh Chetanpura, and Punjab President Ginni Bhatia appreciated DCP Sandhu for his dedicated administrative services and commitment to society.
On the occasion, Dr. Charanjit Singh Chetanpura and Ginni Bhatia presented DCP Ravinderpal Singh Sandhu with a sapling and a bouquet as a mark of respect. They said the honour was not only for an individual officer but also served as an inspiration to everyone working selflessly for the betterment of society and the environment.
They informed that the organization has launched a special campaign to make Amritsar a cleaner, greener, and pollution-free city. As part of the initiative, officers and social workers who have rendered outstanding public service are being honoured with saplings to spread the message of environmental conservation and encourage greater public participation in tree plantation.
Appreciating the initiative, DCP Ravinderpal Singh Sandhu said that environmental protection is one of the most pressing needs of the present time. He assured that more trees would be planted in and around government offices and that the administration would extend full support to efforts aimed at increasing green cover.
He also appealed to the public not only to plant trees but also to take proper care of them so that future generations can enjoy a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment.
Prominent personalities, including Sahil Kumar, were also present on the occasion.
