Amritsar, July 21 (K.L. Jit Walia):Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm welcome from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders upon his arrival in Punjab to attend the party’s massive ‘Vikas Rally’ (Development Rally) in Jalandhar. Former MLA from Amritsar South and BJP South In-charge Harjinder Singh Thekedar also joined senior BJP leaders in welcoming the Prime Minister.
Harjinder Singh Thekedar said that Prime Minister Modi’s visit is highly significant for the development of Punjab, industrial growth, and the strengthening of the state’s infrastructure. He stated that the large public turnout at the Development Rally in Jalandhar reflected the people’s preference for development-oriented politics and strong leadership.
He further said that he had the opportunity to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and hold a brief discussion with him. During the interaction, several important issues concerning Punjab and the sentiments of the people were brought to the Prime Minister’s attention.
Thekedar emphasized that the Central Government is committed to the all-round development of Punjab and that the state will benefit from more development-oriented initiatives in the future. He added that the BJP’s objective is to ensure the welfare of every section of society, create employment opportunities for youth, promote farmers’ prosperity, and achieve the holistic development of Punjab.
Several senior BJP leaders, office-bearers, and party workers were also present on the occasion. They welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab and expressed confidence that it would open new avenues for the state’s growth and development.
