Amritsar, July 19 (K.L. Jit Walia):Advocate Harpal Singh Nijjar, Chairman of the Aam Aadmi Party Legal Wing (Majha Zone), President of the Ajnala Bar Association, and Block President, stated that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is fully committed to public welfare and women’s empowerment. As part of this commitment, financial assistance under the “Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yog Yojana” will once again be credited to the bank accounts of eligible women beneficiaries on August 1.
Advocate Nijjar said that the government will also send SMS notifications to beneficiaries’ mobile phones to inform them once the amount has been deposited. He described the scheme as a historic initiative aimed at strengthening the economic status of mothers and daughters in Punjab, adding that it has boosted women’s confidence and enabled them to play a more active role in family decision-making.
He further stated that under this scheme, every eligible woman aged 18 years or above receives monthly financial assistance. Eligible women belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category are being provided ₹1,500 per month. He added that the scheme began providing benefits from July 1, and more than 3.2 million (32 lakh) women have already been enrolled and benefited from it.
Advocate Harpal Singh Nijjar said that the Punjab Government’s people-centric policies aim to ensure dignity and security for every section of society. He emphasized that economically empowering women is the key to the overall development of society, and that the Mann Government is continuously implementing welfare-oriented initiatives with this vision.
He further said that all welfare schemes are being implemented with complete transparency to ensure that benefits reach eligible beneficiaries. He added that the government will continue to introduce more public welfare initiatives in the future. Nijjar appealed to all eligible women to take full advantage of government schemes and urged those who have not yet registered to complete their applications at the earliest so they can also benefit from this important scheme.
