Amritsar, July 17 (K.L. Jit Walia, Phuljeet Varpal):The Punjab Government has appointed Parmjeet Singh Sonu, a senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) from the Amritsar South Assembly constituency, as the Chairman of the Swarnkar Welfare Board, Amritsar South. His appointment has been welcomed with enthusiasm by members of the Swarnkar community and party workers, while several social and political leaders have extended their congratulations.
Expressing his gratitude, Parmjeet Singh Sonu thanked Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Amritsar South MLA Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar, and the senior leadership of the Aam Aadmi Party for placing their trust in him. He said he would strive to live up to the confidence reposed in him.
Sonu stated that he would discharge his new responsibilities with complete honesty, dedication, and hard work. He said he understands the issues faced by the Swarnkar community and would make every possible effort to resolve them while working tirelessly for the welfare of the community.
He further said that the Swarnkar Welfare Board would actively raise community-related issues before the government on a priority basis and work towards their timely resolution. The Board would also focus on promoting employment opportunities for youth, social welfare, education, and ensuring that government welfare schemes reach the maximum number of beneficiaries.
Parmjeet Singh Sonu expressed confidence that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, remains committed to the welfare of every section of society and will continue working to address the genuine concerns of the Swarnkar community. He added that he would serve as a strong link between the community and the government while making every effort to meet people’s expectations.
