Amritsar (Chheharta), July 3 (K.L. Jit Walia):A protest was held today at Masjid Deen Mohammad in Chheharta under the leadership of Manik Ali, President of the All Muslim Welfare Society India, against Kolkata resident Nazia Elahi Khan. The protesters demanded her immediate arrest and strict legal action.
Speaking on the occasion, All Muslim Welfare Society India President Manik Ali and Masjid Deen Mohammad President Junaid Khan alleged that the remarks made by Nazia Elahi Khan regarding the Prophet were offensive and unacceptable. They demanded that legal action be taken against her without delay.
They further alleged that she had been making objectionable statements against religious personalities for several days and said the matter had now escalated to comments concerning prophets. They urged the government to act promptly in such cases.
Manik Ali demanded that a case be registered against Nazia Elahi Khan and that she be arrested at the earliest.
Among those present were Maulana Abdul Khaliq Qasmi, General Secretary Dr. Moti Rehman, Treasurer Moin Khan Mithu, Deputy Secretary Qasim Ali, Chacha Aneesh Ansari, Mohammad Altaf, Shaukat Ali, Mohammad Kalam, Mohammad Firoz, Riaz, Akbar Thekedar, Inayat Thekedar, Zafar Ahmed, Maqbool Ahmed, and other members.
