Amritsar, June 19 (Phuljit Singh):- The death anniversary of the great Sikh ruler, visionary statesman, and pride of Punjab, Maharaja Ranjit Singh, will be observed with great respect and devotion on June 29 at the historic Ram Bagh premises outside the Summer Palace in Amritsar.
The event will be graced by the presence of Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib.
Regarding preparations for the commemorative event, members of the Akal Sewa Foundation and social worker Sarbjit Singh Sonu Jandiala held a special meeting with Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj. During the discussion, emphasis was laid on making the event memorable and on passing the rich legacy and history of Maharaja Ranjit Singh to future generations.
Speaking on the occasion, Sonu Jandiala informed that the program will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. He appealed to the Sikh community and the public to participate in large numbers, stating that Maharaja Ranjit Singh gave Punjab a golden era of governance that continues to be admired across the world.
He said that preserving Punjab’s glorious history, heritage, and royal legacy is essential and that younger generations should be connected with this proud past.
According to him, the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh is not merely a memorial occasion but also an opportunity to take pride in the community’s rich heritage and history.
Among those present were Jatinder Singh Akali, Karandeep Singh, Jobanjeet Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Secretary Singh, Nirmal Singh, and several other distinguished personalities.
