Amritsar, June 14 (K.L. Jit Walia) – After returning to Amritsar from a successful visit to Australia and New Zealand, Amritsar Member of Parliament Gurjeet Singh Aujla was warmly welcomed and honored by senior Congress leader, President of Arora Khatri Mahasabha Punjab, and Chairman of Sher-e-Punjab Club Sanjeev Arora.
On the occasion, Sanjeev Arora said that Gurjeet Singh Aujla had enhanced the prestige of Amritsar and Punjab at the international level. During his foreign tour, he met members of the Punjabi diaspora living in Australia, New Zealand, and other countries, listening carefully to their concerns, challenges, and aspirations. Arora praised Aujla’s efforts to strengthen Punjabi culture, heritage, and community bonds, stating that these initiatives have further enhanced the global identity of Punjab and Amritsar.
During the meeting, representatives of the Sher-e-Punjab Club requested a special grant of ₹5 lakh from MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla for the development of the club and for promoting youth, sports, and social welfare activities in Amritsar.
Sanjeev Arora stated that the proposed grant would be utilized for infrastructure development, expansion of sports and health facilities, and various youth welfare initiatives. MP Aujla responded positively to the request and assured all possible support.
Welcoming the MP on behalf of the people of Amritsar, Sanjeev Arora extended his best wishes for Aujla’s future endeavors and continued public service.
