Vice Chairman of the National Safai Karamchari Commission listens to Mann Ki Baat with sanitation workers
Chandigarh, April 26 (K.L. Jit Walia):In Sector-25, Chandigarh, sanitation worker organizations and leaders of the Valmiki community gathered with great enthusiasm and unity to listen to the 133rd episode of Mann Ki Baat by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The program was attended by Vice Chairman of the National Safai Karamchari Commission, Hardeep Singh Gill, along with Councillor Poonam and social worker Jyoti Hans, among other prominent personalities.
On this occasion, Hardeep Gill said that Mann Ki Baat is not merely a program but has become a powerful medium to connect every section of society. He emphasized that it effectively communicates the government’s vision and schemes to people across the country.
Gill further stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has witnessed a new direction in religious, cultural, and infrastructural development. He highlighted the grand construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya as a symbol of the long-standing faith of millions, strengthening the nation’s cultural heritage and honoring people’s sentiments.
He also mentioned that the development of Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya is proving to be a milestone for the region. Gill praised the Prime Minister’s efforts to uplift and सम्मान (honor) the Valmiki community, stating that various schemes and social messages have helped bring the community into the mainstream.
Hardeep Gill added that the central government is taking commendable steps for the welfare of sanitation workers and the Valmiki community, aiming to provide them with dignity, security, and a better standard of living. He noted that the Prime Minister has, on several occasions, personally honored sanitation workers—even washing their feet—which has sent a strong message of respect across the country and inspired a positive societal outlook toward them as true heroes.
Councillor Poonam said that the Valmiki community has always played a crucial role in serving society and deserves full respect and rights. She added that such programs play an important role in spreading awareness.
Social worker Jyoti Hans stated that the Prime Minister’s thoughts provide a new direction to society and inspire youth to adopt a positive mindset. She also encouraged women to actively participate in social service.
Several dignitaries, including Omprakash Saini, former Mayor Rajesh Kalia, Naresh Tank, Gyani Ram Bagri, Anita Lohre, Meena Rana, Krishna Chaddha, Jasbir Tank, Sonu, Pappu Chawla, Samdarshi Vaid, Kali Adiwal, Vikas Chandaliya, Ranbir Singh, Vijender, Sanju, Deepak, Geeta, Karan Singh Rana, Sonia, Balkar Kalyan, Vikas Lohat, Joginder Jeevi, Hrithik, and Badal, were also present at the event.
