Amritsar, April 24 (K.L. Jit Walia) – Gagandeep Singh Bhakna, political advisor to former cabinet minister Bikram Singh Majithia, reacted strongly to reports of seven Rajya Sabha members of Aam Aadmi Party joining the Bharatiya Janata Party, stating that this marks the beginning of AAP’s political decline in Punjab.
Bhakna said that when senior leadership, MLAs, and MPs begin to leave a party, it clearly indicates that its political end has started. He alleged that AAP is being run in an authoritarian manner, with party supremo Arvind Kejriwal concentrating all powers in his hands.
He further claimed that Kejriwal is not listening to leaders in Punjab and other states, and accused him of running a “shop of corruption.” According to Bhakna, the current developments signal that AAP’s political decline in Punjab has already begun.
He also asserted that people are increasingly viewing the Shiromani Akali Dal as a party that truly represents public interests, and that more people are joining it. He predicted that the party will form the government in Punjab in 2027.
Bhakna added that AAP came to power in Punjab by making false promises but failed to fulfill them. As a result, he claimed, even party workers and leaders are now distancing themselves from the government.
