In Amritsar on 16 February the Punjab Government and Punjab Police organized a massive mega rally in Moga under the anti drug campaign “War Against Drugs”. On this occasion police officers who carried out notable actions against drug trafficking and illegal weapons under the state’s anti drug policy were specially honoured.
During the rally DSP Raja Sansi Neeraj Kumar Anaria and SHO Inspector Harsimran Kaur of Raja Sansi police station were presented with cash rewards by the government. Recently under their leadership a large consignment of drugs and illegal weapons was recovered and several key arrests were made. These actions have dealt a major blow to drug networks active in the region and strengthened law and order.
The mega rally was attended by Arvind Kejriwal national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party along with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav as well as several cabinet ministers. During the event a pledge was reiterated to make the state drug free and the commendable performance of the police force was praised.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said in his address that the fight against drugs will continue until its final stage and no trafficker will be spared. He added that the government will always encourage police officers who work with honesty and courage.
Arvind Kejriwal appreciated the actions of the police and said that the government is fully committed to eliminating drug mafias and is taking every necessary step to strengthen law and order.
DSP Neeraj Anaria expressed gratitude to the government for the honour and said that the achievement is the result of collective efforts of the entire police team. He assured that the campaign against drugs and illegal arms will continue with the same determination. SHO Harsimran Kaur also stated that she will continue to perform her duties with dedication and make every possible effort to help create a drug free society.
The mega rally in Moga sent a clear message that the Punjab Government is committed to decisive action against drugs. Honouring dedicated officers has boosted the morale of the police force and the public has been urged to cooperate with the government and police to eliminate this social menace and make Punjab safe and drug free.
