Punjab murder case today :- A sensational incident in Jalandhar Punjab on Friday has raised serious questions about politics and law and order across the state. Aam Aadmi Party leader Lucky Oberoi was shot dead in broad daylight. The incident occurred near a gurdwara in the Model Town area when he was seated in his Thar vehicle. The sudden attack created panic and fear in the locality.
According to eyewitnesses the assailants were lying in wait. As soon as Lucky Oberoi arrived they opened fire on him and fled the spot immediately after the attack. Before people nearby could fully grasp what had happened the crime had already been carried out. Oberoi was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition but he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
After receiving information about the incident senior police and administrative officials reached the spot. The entire area was sealed and an investigation was launched. CCTV footage from nearby locations is being examined to identify the attackers. Police officials said that all angles including personal enmity and political rivalry are being probed.
Following the killing there was strong anger among Aam Aadmi Party workers. Party leaders termed the incident a failure of law and order and demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible. Local residents also expressed concern saying that such incidents in broad daylight pose a serious threat to public safety.
The administration has assured that a fair investigation will be conducted and the accused will be arrested soon. Additional police forces have been deployed to maintain peace in the area. The incident once again highlights how dangerous political violence has become for society and underlines the need for strict measures to prevent it.
