Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian to Hoist the National Flag in Amritsar on January 26
Amritsar, January 24 (K.L. Jit Walia):The full dress rehearsal for the district level Republic Day celebrations to be held on January 26 was conducted today at Guru Nanak Stadium, Amritsar. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Amritsar Dalwinderjit Singh performed the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag.
After the flag hoisting, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the parade. This was followed by an impressive march past led by Parade Commander Paras Garg, in which contingents of the Punjab Police, Punjab Police Women’s Wing, Punjab Home Guards, and the Punjab Police Band participated.
During the program, students from various educational institutions presented patriotic cultural performances, including choreography, Giddha, and Bhangra, filled with the spirit of nationalism.
Deputy Commissioner Dalwinderjit Singh stated that the Republic Day celebrations in Amritsar will be observed with full enthusiasm and that all necessary preparations have been completed. He informed that during the district level function, Punjab Cabinet Minister Shri Hardeep Singh Mundian—Minister for Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management, Water Supply and Sanitation, and Housing Construction and Urban Development—will hoist the National Flag.

He appealed to all government officers and employees to participate mandatorily in the समारोह and also urged the residents of the district to attend in large numbers to enhance the grandeur of the event.
After the full dress rehearsal, the Deputy Commissioner held a meeting with officers from various departments and issued necessary guidelines to ensure the successful conduct of the Republic Day function.
Among those present on the occasion were Additional Police Commissioner Jagjit Singh Walia, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rohit Gupta, SDM-1 Amanpreet Singh, District Revenue Officer Navkirat Singh, District Education Officer (Elementary) Kavaljeet Singh, Deputy District Education Officer Rajesh Khanna, District Social and Security Officer Aseesinder Singh, Red Cross Secretary Samson Masih, Deputy Director Sherjang Singh Hundal, Superintendent Asneel Sharma, and several other officials.
