Amritsar, September 12 (K.L. Jit Walia/Nanu): Phulkari Women of Amritsar (WOA) organised the Amritsar edition launch of author and corporate advisor Suhel Seth’s book, WTF India: Are We Losing the Plot? The event was attended by around 250 women.
The central message of the programme was “Read, Question and Repeat.” Discussions during the event focused on several issues concerning civic life in the country, including public amenities, poor road conditions, potholes, power cuts and civic apathy.
During the interaction, Suhel Seth said that there are several problems in society which people have gradually started ignoring and accepting as a normal part of everyday life. He stressed the responsibility of citizens, the need to question the system and the importance of taking an active role in bringing about change.
Former President of Phulkari WOA, Deepa Swani, moderated the interaction with Suhel Seth. Phulkari WOA Chairperson Kavita Kahlon (2026–27) said that civic awareness is not the responsibility of the government alone, but is also the responsibility of every citizen.
Phulkari founder Praneet Babbar formally unveiled the book on stage. The programme began with a welcome address by Muskaan Josan, while Sheetal Khanna hosted the event and Sonakshi Kundra delivered the vote of thanks.
The event was planned by Kamal Uppal, Payal Mehra and Reena Kundra. Office-bearers and a large number of members of Phulkari WOA were present on the occasion.
