Narinder Kumar Tinu and associates met Dimpa; raised concerns over Punjab’s law and order situation

Politics in Punjab has intensified over the alleged lathi-charge on members of the Scheduled Caste (SC) community and sanitation workers protesting in Barnala, along with the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
Former Member of Parliament and Congress leader Jasbir Singh Dimpa, who is in charge of the Amritsar East constituency, strongly criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, saying that the treatment meted out to women peacefully raising their voices for their rights is a blot on democracy.
On Tuesday, Narinder Kumar Tinu, Organizational Secretary of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee and National Executive Member of the Bharatiya Valmiki Adi Dharam Samaj (Bhawa), Regd. 1964, met Jasbir Singh Dimpa at his office along with Yashpal Sharma, President of the Amritsar Auto Spare Parts Association, Charanjit Singh, representative of the Goldsmith Association, and other associates. During the meeting, Dimpa was honored with a bouquet.
The leaders held detailed discussions on Punjab’s current situation, law and order, social issues, and the Barnala incident.
Speaking on the occasion, Jasbir Singh Dimpa termed the alleged mistreatment of Dalit women in Barnala as unfortunate and condemnable. He said the Congress Party has always stood for the dignity and rights of the Dalit community and will continue to support them in every struggle.
Dimpa alleged that the law and order situation in Punjab is worsening day by day, while the government is trying to suppress voices of protest instead of addressing people’s genuine concerns. He said using force against peaceful protesters, especially women, goes against democratic values.
The former MP demanded a high-level and impartial inquiry into the Barnala incident and strict action against any officials found responsible.
Narinder Kumar Tinu said suppressing the voices of weaker sections and employees fighting for their rights is not a healthy sign for democracy. He added that the Congress Party stands with every affected family and will continue its fight until justice is delivered.
The leaders also discussed several other important social, political, and public-interest issues concerning Punjab. They warned that if the government continues to ignore the legitimate demands of the people, the Congress Party will intensify its democratic protest across the state.
