“Traders are the backbone of the economy of any state” – Bansal, Khanna, Chaddha
Amritsar, July 28 (K.L. Jit Walia): Punjab State Traders Commission Vice Chairman and Aam Aadmi Party Trade Wing President Anil Thakur chaired a review meeting with district officials of various departments at the District Administrative Complex, Amritsar. During the meeting, he reviewed department-wise pending complaints submitted by traders and industrialists on the Punjab State Traders Commission (PSTC) Portal and issued directions for their prompt disposal.
Present on the occasion were Punjab State Traders Commission Member Sheetal Juneja, District Amritsar Vice Chairman Abhishek Bansal, East Constituency Trade Chairman Kapil Chaddha, Attari Trade Representative Sandeep Singh, North Constituency Representative Rahil Khanna, Central Constituency Representative Sanjeev Lali, South Constituency Representative Vaneet Aneja, Jandiala Representative Ramesh Awasthi, and Baba Bakala Representative Gurdev Singh, among others.
Addressing the meeting, Anil Thakur said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is committed to providing transparent, accountable, and time-bound services to traders. He stated that the PSTC Portal serves as an effective platform for the speedy resolution of traders’ grievances, and every complaint registered on the portal must be resolved within the stipulated time.
He instructed all departmental officers to regularly review pending complaints and ensure their disposal on priority. No complaint should remain pending without a valid reason, and any technical or administrative hurdles should be resolved immediately.
Thakur said that timely resolution of traders’ and industrialists’ issues would strengthen their trust in the government and create a more business-friendly environment in the state. He also directed officials to ensure that all future complaints are disposed of within the prescribed time frame to prevent unnecessary inconvenience to traders.
On the occasion, Sheetal Juneja, Abhishek Bansal, Rahil Khanna, and Kapil Chaddha appreciated the Punjab Government’s efforts to promote trade and commerce. They said that the district administration has been continuously working to resolve traders’ issues, thereby strengthening the business environment in Punjab.
Deputy Commissioner Dalwinderjit Singh, IAS, stated that traders are the backbone of any state’s economy, and resolving their issues promptly remains the district administration’s top priority.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Pallavi Mishra informed that complaints received on the portal are reviewed every week. She said that the major issues raised by traders include sewerage cleaning, hanging electricity wires, increased police patrolling in industrial areas, and revenue department matters. She added that the Municipal Corporation is improving the sewerage system, police patrolling has been intensified in industrial zones, and officials from concerned departments will visit sites with traders to resolve their grievances.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Pragati Sethi, Assistant Commissioner Sales Tax Mahesh Gupta, Assistant Commissioner Municipal Corporation Vishal Wadhawan, DSP Headquarters Balraj Singh, District Food and Supplies Officer Sukhjinder Singh, BSNL SDO, District Development and Panchayat Officer P.S. Sahota, Additional SE PSPCL Simarpal Singh, and officials from various departments.
