Amritsar, July 17 (K.L. Jit Walia): Senior leader of Akali Dal Waris Punjab De, Paramjit Singh Kler, has urged the Government of India to allow the nationwide theatrical release of the film based on the life of Bhai Jaswant Singh Khalra, starring Punjabi actor Diljit Dosanjh, without any restrictions. He said the public should be given an opportunity to learn about an important chapter of history.
Speaking to reporters, Kler stated that the film is based on factual events and portrays Bhai Jaswant Singh Khalra’s struggle for human rights. He said Khalra is widely remembered for bringing attention to the alleged case of thousands of unidentified bodies, making a significant contribution to the cause of human rights.
Kler also said that many people in Punjab are disappointed with traditional political parties, claiming that several promises made to the public remain unfulfilled. He further claimed that many people now have new expectations from Bhai Amritpal Singh and are hoping for political change in the state.
He added that if Akali Dal Waris Punjab De gets an opportunity to serve Punjab, it would prioritize the welfare of every section of society. He claimed that the party would work to ensure the safety of people belonging to all religions, including Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims, and Christians, while promoting communal harmony, protecting business interests, and giving equal importance to development.
Kler said that restoring peace, brotherhood, and progress in Punjab would be among the party’s top priorities. Prominent social worker Gurmej Singh Khiala was also present on the occasion.
