Amritsar, July 16 (K.L. Jit Walia):Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and District President of the Virasat Seva Sangathan, Gaurav Aggarwal, said that the Chief Minister Pilgrimage Scheme launched by the Punjab Government has emerged as a historic public welfare initiative. He stated that under the scheme, more than 300,000 devotees have so far been provided free pilgrimage visits to various holy religious destinations across the country, calling it a remarkable achievement.
Speaking to journalists, Gaurav Aggarwal said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is committed to respecting the religious sentiments of people by enabling devotees from all sections of society to visit their sacred shrines and pilgrimage sites. With this objective, the Chief Minister Pilgrimage Scheme has been implemented successfully.
He said that to ensure pilgrims do not face any inconvenience during their journey, the Punjab Government has made comprehensive arrangements for transportation, security, meals, accommodation, and other essential facilities. The government’s primary objective is to ensure that devotees complete their religious journeys with comfort, safety, and devotion.
Gaurav Aggarwal said that this scheme is not merely a government programme but also an important initiative to respect people’s religious sentiments and strengthen social harmony. He added that the Punjab Government will continue its efforts to expand and further improve the scheme so that a larger number of people can benefit from it.
He further informed that three new pilgrimage routes will soon be introduced under the scheme, covering Khatu Shyam Ji, Salasar Balaji, Haridwar and Rishikesh, and Mathura-Vrindavan.
He appealed to the people of Punjab to make maximum use of the government’s welfare schemes and contribute towards strengthening mutual brotherhood, unity, and communal harmony in society.
