Amritsar, July 4 (Manpreet Singh Sethi, Phuljeet Singh Varpal):World Heavyweight Champion Shamsher Singh Shera visited the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) district headquarters in Amritsar on Friday. During the visit, he felicitated Jarnail Singh Dhot on his appointment as the party’s Lok Sabha In-charge.
Former Lok Sabha In-charge Iqbal Singh Bhullar, District Media In-charge Satnam Singh Matharu, and National Council Member Harinder Singh were also present at the event. On the occasion, AAP leaders also honoured Shamsher Singh Shera for his remarkable achievement at the international level.
Speaking on the occasion, Jarnail Singh Dhot said that Shamsher Singh Shera has brought pride to Punjab and India through his hard work, discipline, and determination. He described Shera’s achievement as a matter of great pride for the entire state and an inspiration for the youth, adding that such athletes prove that dedication and perseverance can help achieve any goal.
Dhot further said that the Aam Aadmi Party has always remained committed to promoting sports and supporting athletes. Under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state government is continuously working to strengthen sports infrastructure, provide better opportunities for young athletes, and extend every possible support so that more youth from Punjab can bring glory to the country at the international level.
Expressing his gratitude, World Heavyweight Champion Shamsher Singh Shera thanked the AAP leaders for the honour and said that the recognition would motivate him to work even harder. He pledged to continue striving to bring greater glory to Punjab and India on the global stage. He also urged young people to stay away from drugs and adopt sports and a healthy lifestyle, saying that sports are the foundation of success and a healthy society.
