Amritsar, July 5 (Uppal): In recognition of her efforts to streamline traffic management in the city’s cloth markets and strengthen the security of traders, ADCP Traffic Amandeep Kaur was honoured by Ginni Bhatia, Punjab President of the PFHR National Trade Board, and Narinder Singh Rattan, President of the Karmo Deori Chowk Market Association.
On the occasion, Ginni Bhatia said that traffic congestion in the cloth markets had become a serious issue. He appreciated the Traffic Police for deploying personnel at key locations, which helped improve traffic flow and provided significant relief to traders and the general public. He thanked ADCP Amandeep Kaur for her efforts.
The traders also raised an important demand, urging the police to increase PCR (Police Control Room) patrols and vigilance in the markets during nighttime to ensure the safety of shopkeepers, traders, and their properties, and to prevent thefts and other untoward incidents.
Responding to the demand, ADCP Traffic Amandeep Kaur assured the trader representatives that the police administration is fully committed to ensuring the safety and convenience of the business community. She said that, along with improving traffic management, security arrangements and nighttime PCR patrolling in the markets would also be strengthened.
