Amritsar, June 16 (K.L. Jit Walia): A meeting was organized today at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Amritsar under the leadership of Gaurav Aggarwal, District President of Virasat Seva Sangathan, to review the progress and implementation of the Chief Minister Teerth Yatra Scheme.
The meeting was attended by Mayor Jatinder Singh Bhatia as a special guest. During the discussion with representatives of the hotel association, various measures were considered to improve the travel experience of pilgrims visiting Amritsar Sahib and to address the challenges faced by visitors during the summer season.
Among those present were District Revenue Officer Navkirat Singh Randhawa, PUNSUP Chairman Prabhbir Singh Brar, Amarinder Singh Sohal (North Constituency Coordinator, Virasat Seva Sangathan Amritsar), Palwinder Singh Prince, Karunesh Bhargav, Gurjinder Singh, Harshal Kaur, and several other members.
Representatives of the Amritsar hotel industry assured their full cooperation with the government in the successful implementation of the scheme. They also expressed gratitude to the Punjab Government and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for the initiative.
The participants noted that while the scheme has provided residents of Punjab with an opportunity to undertake pilgrimages free of cost, it has also generated increased business and employment opportunities for the hotel industry, which had been facing economic challenges in recent years.
