Amritsar, June 14 (K.L. Jit Walia) – Sheetal Juneja and Kapil Chadha stated that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann, is actively addressing the concerns of traders, industrialists, and shopkeepers through the Traders Commission established for this purpose.
Speaking to journalists, they said that direct meetings are being organized with traders across Punjab’s districts and towns to understand their problems and provide solutions on priority. Efforts are being made to resolve many issues on the spot, while others are being coordinated with the concerned departments for prompt action.
They emphasized that traders, industrialists, and shopkeepers form the backbone of Punjab’s economy. Besides generating employment opportunities, they contribute significantly to the state’s revenue. Therefore, resolving their concerns remains one of the government’s top priorities.
Juneja and Chadha stated that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is the first leader in Punjab’s history to establish a dedicated Traders Commission, providing a formal platform where traders can directly present their grievances and suggestions. They noted that no previous government had created such a specialized body for addressing traders’ issues.
They further said that earlier, traders often had to visit multiple government offices for even minor administrative matters, leading to unnecessary delays and loss of productive time. The Traders Commission is now reaching out directly to traders, listening to their concerns, and coordinating with relevant departments to ensure speedy resolution.
Highlighting the government’s business-friendly approach, they said Punjab is implementing policies aimed at creating a favorable environment for trade and industry. These initiatives are expected to boost business activity, create new employment opportunities for youth, and further strengthen Punjab’s economy.
Both leaders appealed to traders to bring their genuine concerns and suggestions before the Traders Commission so that timely and effective solutions can be ensured. They reiterated that the Punjab Government remains fully committed to safeguarding the interests of the trading community and working for the welfare of all sections of society.
