Amritsar, May 16 (K.L. Jit Walia) — A special meeting was organized in Ward No. 18 at Verka in Amritsar East constituency by Block President Advocate Harpal Singh Nijjar, Chairman of the Aam Aadmi Party Legal Wing, Majha Zone. During the meeting, MLA Madam Jeevan Jyot Kaur held a special interaction with local women members, referred to as ‘Sakhiyan’, and listened to their problems and suggestions.
During the event, MLA Jeevan Jyot Kaur distributed kits to women under the Punjab Government’s public welfare initiative “Mawan Dhiyaan Satkar Yojana.” Along with this, the registration process for the scheme was also started, which received an enthusiastic response from a large number of women.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Jeevan Jyot Kaur said that the Punjab Government’s aim is to make every woman and daughter in society economically strong and self-reliant. She stated that ensuring the benefits of welfare schemes reach every household remains her top priority.
She also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people for their continuous support and affection towards the party and for the development works being carried out in the area. A large number of local women, party workers, and prominent residents were present during the meeting.
