K L Jit Walia, Amritsar :- The Air Veteran Welfare Society Amritsar Registered Punjab celebrated its Sixth Veteran Day with reverence respect and great enthusiasm under the leadership of Society President Veteran Nirmal Singh Bedi. Around 130 former Indian Air Force officers along with their family members and children participated in the program in large numbers.
The chief guests of the event were renowned neurosurgeon of Amritsar Dr Ashish Kumar Surinder Hospital Chheharta and Dr Jatinder Kaur MD. Special guests included former MLA Sunil Datty senior Congress leader Sanjeev Arora Additional Deputy Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Surinder Singh Dr Madan Dr Rakesh Arora Dr R P S Boparai from Dukh Nivaran Hospital retired ADC R C Mudal Councillor Satish Ballu Advocate Parvesh Chandra Romy Ji Editor in Chief of Punjab Media Times K L Jeet Walia kidney specialist Dr Daksh Mahajan and chest specialist Dr Grover.
The success of the program was made possible by the significant contributions of Society Chairman retired DSP Major Singh Finance Secretary S R S Sound General Secretary Sukhdev Singh event organizer Anil Kumar PRO Rajiv Singh Senior Vice Presidents S S Majithia and Amarjeet Singh advisor Baldev Singh and other members.
On this occasion the senior most 95 year old veteran Flying Officer J J Singh S S Majithia Prem Singh and other veterans above the age of 80 were specially honored. Renowned Punjabi anchor and artist Aman entertained the audience with his excellent performance.
Society President Nirmal Singh Bedi thanked all the guests and stated that service and respect for ex servicemen is the top priority of the society. Dr Ashish Kumar and Dr Jatinder Kaur assured that they are available round the clock for the health services of veterans.
Former MLA Sunil Datty Sanjeev Arora and Dr Rakesh Arora said that former soldiers are the pride of the nation.
On this occasion social worker Amardeep Singh Bedi Advocate Krishna Devgan Punjab State Power Corporation JE S S Sangha JE Manjeet Singh Reader Rajinder Singh Gurinder Singh Atul Sharma Subedar Kaaraj Singh Subedar Lakhwinder Singh Sanjay Kumar Akhilesh Rai Master Warrant Officer Pawan Kumar and many other prominent personalities of Amritsar were also present in large numbers.
