Amritsar, March 29 (K.L. Jit Walia): The play “Mirch Masala” was successfully staged to a houseful audience under the direction of renowned theatre director and film personality Sajan Kapoor. The production received immense appreciation for blending humor with a meaningful social message.
The play was co-directed by associate director Harun Arora, while Abhishek Bhardwaj served as the Production Head. The performance was dedicated to the late playwright Jatinder Singh Brar, who originally wrote the script.
“Mirch Masala” takes a light-hearted yet impactful look at the societal mindset of labeling unmarried individuals as “chhadda.” The story revolves around three brothers who remain unmarried due to differing expectations.
According to the plot, the eldest brother is unable to marry because his two younger brothers want to choose their own preferred sister-in-law. The middle brother, a bodybuilder, desires a physically fit bride, while the youngest brother, with a modern outlook, wants a contemporary and stylish partner. Eventually, the eldest brother marries a woman of his own choice, leading to conflict as the younger brothers sever ties with him.
The turning point comes when the sister-in-law, through her love and wisdom, helps both brothers understand the importance of family values, balance, and relationships. Presented in a comedic tone, the play keeps the audience entertained while delivering a strong social message about acceptance and family unity.
The cast, including Gurleen Kaur, Komalpreet Sabharwal, Sampreet Singh, Simran, Richa Sapra, Mohit Sethi, Mehtab Singh, Rakesh Sharma, Romi Punj, Bikramjit Singh, Suruchi, Rohit Sharma, Pawandeep Sharma, Megha, Sudhanshu, and Mansi Bhagat, delivered outstanding performances and won the hearts of the audience.
The audience applauded the play enthusiastically, and the auditorium remained completely packed, reflecting the production’s success and popularity.
