Amritsar March 11 (K L Jit Walia) – Kanwarbir Singh Manzil General Secretary of the OBC Morcha of Bharatiya Janata Party met Nayab Singh Saini and discussed the current situation in Punjab. During the meeting Manzil expressed serious concern over the law and order situation in the state and said that Punjab is passing through a very sensitive and challenging phase.
Manzil stated that the law and order situation in Punjab is deteriorating day by day and people are facing increasing insecurity. He said that several businessmen in the state are reportedly receiving extortion calls from gangsters which has created an atmosphere of fear among the business community.
He further alleged that corruption has reached alarming levels in the state. According to him the issue of drug abuse continues to be a major challenge despite repeated claims about efforts to eliminate it. Manzil expressed concern that the growing drug problem is affecting the future of the youth in Punjab and pushing many young people toward a difficult path.
Highlighting social concerns he also said that the voices of underprivileged and marginalized communities are often not being heard. He emphasized that the benefits of welfare schemes launched by the central government should reach the people of Punjab directly and effectively. For this he suggested that certain administrative measures and better coordination are required.
Expressing deep concern about the overall situation Manzil urged that the central government should give special attention to Punjab so that stability and development in the state can be ensured and the future of its people remains secure.
During the meeting Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini recalled old memories with Manzil and interacted with him in a cordial atmosphere. He assured that the concerns raised during the discussion would be conveyed to the central leadership and reiterated that the central government remains committed to protecting the interests and future of the people of Punjab.
