Fear of Bikram Majithia Has Disappeared from the Hearts of Majitha Constituency Residents; People Stand for Justice: Talbir Singh Gill
Majitha, October 28 (Subhash Chander Bhagat): Under the leadership of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Majitha constituency in-charge Talbir Singh Gill, party workers from across the constituency burnt an effigy of Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia at the Majitha bus stand.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, Talbir Singh Gill launched a sharp attack on Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia. He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had ensured a bold and impartial legal investigation into allegations concerning benami properties and other matters allegedly linked to Bikram Majithia. A case was also registered in the matter as part of the legal process.
Gill stated that the accused had remained in jail for a considerable period in connection with this serious case. Now that he has been released from jail, the chargesheet in the matter has also been filed in court. The AAP leader expressed confidence that strict punishment would be ensured through the judicial process.
He said that, in contrast to the alleged arrogance and influence displayed in the past, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had taken action without fear or pressure.
Responding to opposition allegations of political vendetta and the registration of false cases, Talbir Singh Gill said these were attempts to divert public attention and create confusion among people. He categorically maintained that there was no political vendetta involved and that the law was functioning transparently in accordance with established procedures.
He added that residents of the Majitha constituency were well aware of the kind of political and administrative pressure that had prevailed in the area for a long time.
Concluding his remarks, Gill claimed that a large number of people in the Majitha area were now coming forward openly and appeared satisfied with the developments. He asserted that the fear associated with Bikram Majithia’s name, which had earlier existed among residents, had now completely disappeared.
He said that whatever decision emerges in the case through the upcoming judicial and legal proceedings will bring the truth to light, and ultimately, justice will prevail.
