Verka, August 23 (Paramjit Singh Bagga): Former Chairman of the Improvement Trust and senior Congress leader Dinesh Bassi met residents and prominent citizens of the East Assembly constituency at his office today and carefully listened to their problems from various areas of the constituency.
During the meeting, residents apprised Dinesh Bassi of several issues, including drinking water shortages, poor drainage of wastewater, damaged roads and non-functional streetlights. They said that people in several areas are facing daily difficulties due to problems related to basic civic amenities.
After listening seriously to the residents’ concerns, Dinesh Bassi said that efforts would be made continuously to take people’s problems to the concerned departments on a priority basis and get them resolved. He said addressing the problems of the people is his top priority and every possible effort will continue for the development of the East constituency.
He sought the cooperation of the residents and said that if the Congress government is formed in Punjab, the development of the East constituency will be given a new direction. Special attention will be paid to bringing new development projects to the area, promoting industry, creating employment opportunities and developing better infrastructure.
He said his objective is to equip the East constituency with better basic facilities and provide residents with a better living environment.
Dinesh Bassi said that he remains in constant contact with the people of the East constituency and that their voice will be strongly raised at every level.
On the occasion, Councillor Shinder Birlan, Congress leader Sanjeev Tangri, Councillor Raman Rammi and other prominent citizens were also present.
