Amritsar, January 12 (Punjab Media Times Team):- The final prayer and condolence ceremony in memory of senior journalist late Harjeet Singh Grewal was solemnly held at Gurdwara Baba Darshan Singh Ji Kulli Wale. On this occasion, a large number of prominent personalities associated with political, social, religious organizations, employee unions, and journalist bodies gathered to pay their heartfelt tributes and offer floral homage to the departed soul.
During the ceremony, several institutions and dignitaries extended financial assistance to the Grewal family. Punjabi Lok Channel contributed ₹4 lakh, Press Club Amritsar extended approximately ₹1 lakh, BJP leader Akshay Sharma contributed ₹1 lakh, West Constituency leader Kamal Kumar gave ₹50,000, Harpreet Gill (Canada), former Bureau Chief of Ajit, contributed ₹11,000, while the Amritsar Cameramen Association also provided financial support.
In addition, Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust announced a monthly pension of ₹2,500 for the family. The Head Granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Giani Raghbir Singh Ji, offered ₹11,000. Raunak Punjab Channel, Canada contributed ₹11,000, SI Daljeet Singh gave ₹5,000, along with financial assistance from many other social workers and fellow journalists.

While addressing the condolence gathering, speakers remembered the immense contribution of late Harjeet Singh Grewal to the field of journalism, describing him as a fearless, impartial, and people-centric journalist. Expressing deep sympathy with the bereaved family, they unanimously stated that the journalism fraternity has lost a powerful and honest voice, the absence of which will be difficult to fill.
