Bank Provides Essential Items to School and Anganwadi Centre in Thaparkhedi
Amritsar, August 18 (K.L. Jit Walia): The Regional Office of Punjab & Sind Bank provided essential items, including a water cooler, chairs, tables and other necessary equipment, to the government school and Anganwadi Centre in Thaparkhedi village. The initiative was carried out under the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme under the leadership of Regional Manager S. Gurmeet Singh.
Chief General Manager of the bank, Mr. Rajinder Kumar Raigar, attended the programme as the chief guest. He said that along with quality education, it is equally important to provide children with good basic facilities. He appreciated the initiative undertaken by the bank.
On the occasion, he also informed the people present about various new government schemes and appealed to them to take advantage of these schemes. He said that creating awareness among people about government welfare schemes is the need of the hour.
Village Sarpanch Baljit Kaur, former Sarpanch S. Lakhbir Singh, bank staff and other dignitaries were also present.
The school management and villagers thanked the bank officials for their initiative and said that the equipment provided by the bank would prove highly beneficial for the children.
