Amritsar, August 15 (K.L. Jit Walia) — Members of the Nasha Mukti Morcha who have been actively contributing to creating awareness against drug abuse, motivating youngsters to stay away from drugs and working towards building a drug-free society were specially honoured during the district-level Independence Day celebrations held in Amritsar.
Chief Guest Cabinet Minister Aman Arora presented appreciation certificates to members of the Nasha Mukti Morcha in recognition of their contribution towards strengthening the anti-drug awareness campaign and spreading awareness among people about the harmful effects of drug abuse.
Those honoured on the occasion included Jai Kush Buttar, Monica Lambha, Kulwant Singh Waddali, Kulwant Rai, Pooja, Suraj Mehra, Raghav Lakhanpal, Mohan Lal, Sahib Singh Gill, Lucky Kapoor, Sheetal Kaler, Manjit Singh, Balbir Kapoor and Mohanmeet Singh.
Dikshit Dhawan, Majha Zone In-charge, Nasha Mukti Morcha; Sarbjit Singh Saba Ball, Chairman, Zila Parishad Amritsar; Honey Nahar, District Coordinator, Amritsar Urban; and Ranjit Singh, District Vice-Coordinator, Amritsar Urban, were also specially present.
Members associated with the anti-drug awareness campaign said that every section of society must fulfil its responsibility to protect the younger generation from drug abuse. They stressed that along with creating awareness, youngsters should be encouraged to participate in sports, education and other healthy and constructive activities.
The members of Nasha Mukti Morcha thanked Cabinet Minister Aman Arora and the Punjab Government for recognising their efforts and honouring them with appreciation certificates. They also assured that they would continue to strengthen and expand the awareness campaign against drug abuse.
