80th Independence Day Celebrated with Great Enthusiasm
Amritsar, August 15 (Harpinder Soni) — On the occasion of the country’s 80th Independence Day, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District Office in Amritsar witnessed a patriotic celebration with the flag-hoisting ceremony held with great enthusiasm. Newly appointed BJP Amritsar Urban District President Salil Kapoor, along with party leaders, office-bearers and workers, hoisted the National Flag, the Tricolour.
After the flag-hoisting ceremony, all the leaders and workers present sang the National Anthem. The entire campus echoed with patriotic slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram.”
On the occasion, BJP National General Secretary and newly elected Rajya Sabha Member Tarun Chugh, former MP and former Punjab BJP President Shwait Malik, former Health Minister Prof. Lakshmi Kanta Chawla, State Secretary Suraj Bhardwaj, Rakesh Gill, former State Secretary and Advocate Rajesh Honey, Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, Bakshi Ram Arora, former Improvement Trust Chairman Sanjeev Khanna, Reena Jaitley, Dr. Ram Chawla, Sukhmander Singh Pintu, Kumar Amit, Ajaibir Pal Singh Randhawa, District General Secretary Manish Sharma, members of the district team, Mandal Presidents and councillors were specially present.
Salil Kapoor Extends Independence Day Greetings
On the occasion, Salil Kapoor extended his greetings to all citizens and countrymen on the 80th Independence Day. Sweets were also distributed among those present.
He paid tribute to the immortal martyrs and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for India’s independence. He called upon party workers to work with dedication towards strengthening the country’s unity, integrity and development and contribute towards making India a strong nation.
