Amritsar, August 8 (Bhullar Devidas Puria): Under the leadership of Nirmaljit Singh Bajwa, President of the Retired Patwari, Kanungo and Naib Tehsildar Welfare Association Punjab, a large number of retired Patwaris, Kanungos, Naib Tehsildars and other members participated in the Maha Rally held on August 7.
Kulwant Singh Dehriwal, Lakhwinder Singh Kohali, Major Singh Bhoma, Harminder Singh, Tarsem Singh Fattubheela, Sukhwinder Singh Sabi, Palwinder Singh, Hardev Singh Bhoma, Ravinder Kumar Ravi, Jagjit Singh Baba, Joginder Singh, Charanjit Singh, Joginder Pal Pandey, Vipin Kumar, Swinderjit Singh Dausanjh, Gurjit Singh, Sushil Handa, Resham Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Sukhdev Singh Majitha, Atma Singh, Mahinder Singh Patti and several other members participated in the rally.
Nirmaljit Singh Bajwa expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the members from across Punjab who participated in large numbers. He said that under the banner of the Joint Employees Platform Punjab and Employees and Pensioners Front Punjab, employees and pensioners turned out in large numbers at the August 7 Maha Rally and expressed their protest.
He also thanked retired members living abroad who could not physically attend the rally but extended their support to the organization and also contributed financially.
Bajwa said that this was one of the largest employee rallies since the country’s independence in 1947. He stated that despite water cannons, tear gas and lathi-charge, a large number of employees came together to voice their protest.
He appealed to all members to strengthen unity in the coming days, set aside personal differences and remain united for the rights of the organization. He said that all members should cooperate in collectively implementing whatever decisions are taken by the organizational leadership.
In the end, Nirmaljit Singh Bajwa once again thanked all the members who came from across Punjab and contributed to making the Maha Rally successful.
