Amritsar, August 5 (Bhullar Devidaspuria): Nirmaljit Singh Bajwa, President of the Retired Patwaris, Kanungos and Naib Tehsildars Welfare Association Punjab, and the association’s spokesperson Kulwant Singh Dehriwal, in a joint press statement, announced that a mega rally will be held on August 7 at Sector-39 Dana Mandi, Chandigarh, against the Punjab Government’s alleged anti-employee policies. The rally has been called by the Punjab Employees’ Forum and the Employees & Pensioners Front Punjab.

The leaders claimed that the gathering would be the largest employees’ rally in Punjab since 1947. They said that a large number of retired Patwaris, Kanungos and Naib Tehsildars from across the state would participate. Preparations for the rally have been completed, with responsibilities assigned across Punjab, and retired employees are showing tremendous enthusiasm.
Bajwa and Dehriwal further stated that if the government still fails to address the employees’ demands after the rally, the agitation will be intensified and the next phase of the movement, including stronger protest actions, will be announced.
