Amritsar, July 22 (K.L. Jit Walia): BJP workers in the Amritsar Central Assembly constituency expressed happiness over the appointment of Tarun Chugh as a member of the Parliamentary Advisory Committee on Defence Affairs.
Senior BJP Punjab leader Sarabjit Singh Shunty congratulated BJP National General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Chugh on being appointed to the prestigious committee.
Shunty said Punjab, being a border state, has long faced challenges such as cross-border terrorism, drone intrusions, drug smuggling, and other national security concerns. He stated that Tarun Chugh’s inclusion in this important parliamentary committee is highly significant at such a crucial time.
He expressed confidence that Chugh would effectively raise issues related to the security of Punjab’s borders, the concerns of residents living in border districts, and other matters connected with national security before the committee.
Shunty added that the appointment is a recognition of Tarun Chugh’s vast experience, nationalist outlook, and his contribution towards strengthening national security under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He extended his best wishes to Chugh for successfully discharging his new responsibilities.
