Amritsar, April 2 (K.L. Jit Walia): MLA Jeevanjot Kaur has initiated a development project in the Amritsar East constituency to raise low and hazardous electricity wires in Ward No. 18 (Verka). The project, launched under the Rangla Punjab Mission, will be carried out at an estimated cost of ₹2.5 crore.
The project began from Village Valla and aims to provide relief to residents from dangerously hanging wires while significantly reducing the risk of accidents in the area.
While inaugurating the project, MLA Jeevanjot Kaur stated that low-hanging high-voltage wires had been a major cause of accidents, and residents had long been demanding a solution. She added that this concern was raised with the government and has now been addressed with a permanent solution.
She further informed that the Punjab government will spend ₹2.5 crore to systematically raise and organize the network of electricity wires across the entire constituency, ensuring long-term safety.
The MLA described the Amritsar East constituency as her extended family and reiterated her commitment to serving the people and improving their quality of life. She also mentioned that more development works will be undertaken in the area under the Rangla Punjab Mission.
On this occasion, Advocate Harpal Singh Nijjar, In-charge of Ward No. 18 (Verka) and Chairman of Aam Aadmi Party Legal Wing (Majha Zone), along with local residents, expressed their gratitude to MLA Jeevanjot Kaur and the Punjab government for this initiative.
