Amritsar Punjab :- Amritsar witnessed a major step in the fight against drug abuse as a special training program was arranged under the “War Against Drugs” campaign led by Bhagwant Singh Mann. The initiative aims to make Punjab a drug free state through coordinated grassroots efforts.
The program was held at Guru Nanak Dev University where district and block coordinators of the Nasha Mukti Morcha from the Majha zone gathered for intensive training. Several key leaders including Manish Sisodia Harbhajan Singh ETO and Laljit Singh Bhullar were present along with MLAs and senior party members.
During the session Sonia Mann guided coordinators to actively engage with Village Defence Committees and Ward Defence Committees in every village and urban ward. She emphasized that volunteers will soon begin door to door awareness campaigns to educate people about the harmful effects of drug abuse.
Addressing the gathering Manish Sisodia highlighted that Punjab is fighting a structured and multi dimensional battle against drugs which can become a global example. He urged volunteers to immediately report any signs of drug trafficking to authorities and reiterated that strict action will be taken against offenders.
Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eliminating drugs while Laljit Singh Bhullar stressed the zero tolerance policy against drug smugglers. Officials including the Deputy Commissioner and Police Commissioner also shared updates on administrative and legal actions being taken.
The event concluded with the felicitation of coordinators who made outstanding contributions to the campaign reinforcing the government’s resolve to build a healthier and drug free Punjab.
