Amritsar, February 6 (K. L. Jit Walia):- A new cricket academy was inaugurated under the leadership of Navjot Singh Grover, Secretary of the Amritsar Games Association (AGA). Speaking on the occasion, Grover said that the initiative has been launched with the objective of providing a better platform to the city’s emerging cricket talent and offering them professional-level training.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal as the chief guest, along with Mayor Jatinder Singh Moti Bhatia, Improvement Trust Chairman Karamjit Singh Rintu, and Lok Sabha In-charge Jaskaran Badesha. Social workers Saurav Seth and Sagar Mahira, who are actively engaged in community service, were also specially present. The presence of Raj Kumar Sharma, father of renowned cricketer Abhishek Sharma, further added to the prestige of the event.
Mayor Bhatia assured full support from the Municipal Corporation for the academy. Chairman Rintu said that the youth of Amritsar possess immense talent and, with proper guidance, can make a mark at the national level. Lok Sabha In-charge Badesha and Saurav Seth also appreciated the academy and encouraged young players to remain dedicated to sports.
On the occasion, senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Kunal Dhawan, along with Mukhvinder Singh Virdi, Varun Rana, Chander Madan, T. P. Singh, R. P. Singh, Sandeep Kumar, Sapan Chopra, K. P. Gill, Pawan Sharma, Prabhashan Chawla, Sagar Mahira, and several other prominent personalities were present.
