Amritsar, January 13 (K. L. Jit Walia):Former Rajya Sabha Member and former Punjab BJP President, Engineer Swet Malik, celebrated the festival of Lohri by flying kites along with BJP leaders and workers in Ward No. 5 of Shastri Nagar and Ward No. 4 of Kennedy Avenue in the North Assembly constituency.
On this occasion, Swet Malik said that the sacred festival of Lohri is celebrated with the belief that a portion of the food offered to the sacred fire reaches the deities. Through this ritual, people express their gratitude to the Sun God and the Fire God. He added that India is the only country where people of all religions celebrate festivals and special days together in a spirit of unity and brotherhood.
Several BJP leaders and workers were present on the occasion, including Mandal President Dr. Nureen Mahajan, BJP leader Gautam Arora, senior leader Sarvan Nair, Manav Taneja, Anuj Bhandari, Dharampal Sharma, Dolly Bhatia, Monu Mahajan, Sandeep Dhawan, Arjun Malik, Monica Sridhar, Ashish Mahajan, Janardan Sharma, Vikram Khanna, Vishnu Mehra, Shivam Rishu, Aradhna, Ankush Mehra, Jaswinder Chauhan, Gaurav Mehra, Vipin Mehra, Bharat Kumar, Kapil Khera, Kashmir Singh Suhana, Vanit Sachin, and a large number of other BJP leaders and workers.
