Tree plantation campaign that began at Sri Fatehgarh Sahib concludes at Karimpura
Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, July 28 (J.S. Khanna):
As in previous years, a nationwide tree plantation campaign was organized this year in memory of the late Vicky Middukhera. The campaign began with an Ardas (prayer) at Sri Fatehgarh Sahib and concluded at Karimpura village, where saplings were planted and prayers were offered at the feet of the Tenth Sikh Guru.
Speaking on the occasion, Jagdeep Singh Cheema, senior BJP leader from the Amloh constituency, said that the annual tree plantation drive is organized to keep the memory of Vicky Middukhera alive while also creating awareness about environmental conservation.
He said that Vicky Middukhera was a close friend of his son Gurmeet Singh Cheema and was like an elder brother to the family. A special remembrance program was also organized at his residence to honor his memory and recall their close family bond.
Jagdeep Cheema emphasized that planting trees is not merely about adding greenery but about laying the foundation for a cleaner, healthier, and greener environment for future generations. He added that the campaign inspires people to reconnect with nature and fulfill their responsibility toward environmental protection.
He urged everyone to consider environmental conservation as a moral duty, stressing that planting trees alone is not enough—their proper care and maintenance are equally important. He appealed to people to plant more trees and help make the Earth greener.
Thanking Ajepal Middukhera for his special participation, Cheema said that his presence made the initiative even more meaningful. He also expressed gratitude to all elders, youth, and local residents whose collective support ensured the success of the campaign.
He said that this initiative in memory of Vicky Middukhera will continue in the coming years to preserve his legacy while contributing to society and environmental welfare.
Those present paid floral tributes to the late Vicky Middukhera and pledged to plant more trees to make the planet greener. The event witnessed an emotional atmosphere along with strong public enthusiasm for environmental conservation.
A large number of political leaders, social workers, village representatives, advocates, and local residents were also present during the event.
