Traders will not be allowed to face any inconvenience: Sheetal Juneja, Kapil Chaddha, Rahil Khanna
Amritsar, June 30 (K.L. Jit Walia): The Municipal Corporation, Amritsar, held an important meeting with the Punjab State Traders Commission (PSTC) to address civic issues and grievances faced by the city’s trading community.
The meeting was chaired by Municipal Commissioner Bikramjit Singh Shergill. Among those present were Mayor Jatinder Singh Bhatia, Additional Commissioner Dr. Jai Inder Singh, Punjab State Traders Commission member Sheetal Juneja, East Constituency Traders Commission Chairman Kapil Chaddha, North Constituency Traders Commission Chairman Rahil Khanna, PSTC member Sanjeev Kumar, heads of various government departments, officials from the Amritsar Improvement Trust, and senior officers of the Municipal Corporation.
During the meeting, officials informed participants that the Punjab Government has launched a dedicated online portal for the timely resolution of traders’ grievances. Through this platform, traders can submit complaints and suggestions related to various government departments. The complaints received on the portal were reviewed, and officials were directed to ensure their prompt resolution.
Detailed discussions were held on constituency-wise complaints. Representatives of traders’ associations raised concerns regarding sanitation, road repairs, street lighting, sewerage, illegal encroachments, solid waste management, and other civic amenities.
Municipal Commissioner Bikramjit Singh Shergill carefully heard all the concerns and instructed the concerned departments to take immediate action. He specifically directed officials of the Amritsar Improvement Trust to personally monitor pending works and ensure that all issues are resolved within the stipulated time. He also made it clear that officials would be held accountable for unnecessary delays.
The Commissioner appealed to traders to cooperate with the Municipal Corporation in keeping the city clean, green, and well-maintained.
On the occasion, Sheetal Juneja, Kapil Chaddha, and Rahil Khanna stated that the Municipal Corporation and the Punjab State Traders Commission are fully committed to resolving the problems of the trading community and ensuring that traders do not face any inconvenience. They assured that every genuine grievance would be addressed on a priority basis.
The Municipal Corporation concluded the meeting by reaffirming its commitment to maintaining regular dialogue with all stakeholders and delivering better civic services through coordination, transparency, and accountable governance.
