Balwinder Billa Takes Major Initiative for Unity of Swarnkar and Rajput Communities, Submits Memorandum to Deputy Commissioner
Amritsar, June 22 (K.L. Jit Walia):
A delegation led by social worker Balwinder Singh Billa, President of Shaheed Baba Pratap Singh Ji Swarnkar Sabha and a prominent leader of the Swarnkar community, met Deputy Commissioner Amritsar Dalwinder Singh Sandhu and submitted a detailed memorandum.
The memorandum demanded elections for Shaheed Baba Pratap Singh Memorial High School, Sultanwind Road, Shaheed Baba Pratap Singh Memorial High School, Jaspal Nagar, and the National Rajput Welfare Association, Baharwar Sultanwind Gate. It also sought the preparation of new voter lists for the Swarnkar and Rajput communities and the public disclosure of the schools’ income and expenditure records for the last 20 years.
The delegation further requested that a senior government officer be assigned to investigate all financial and administrative records of previous years. It also called for clarification regarding the circumstances under which the school’s official governing board was dissolved or removed.
Speaking to journalists, Balwinder Singh Billa stated that the sole purpose of his life is to unite the Swarnkar and Rajput communities on a strong platform so that the community can recognize its collective strength and ensure that all decisions are taken transparently and with consensus.
He emphasized that he has no desire for any position or presidency and only wishes to see the entire community united and working together for the protection of its rights and the strengthening of its institutions.
A large number of members of the Swarnkar and Rajput communities, including Bikramjit Singh, Amarinder Singh, Mukhtiar Singh, Jaspal Singh, Harjit Singh, and Puran Singh Aast, were also present on the occasion.
