Amritsar, May 8 — While addressing journalists today under the guidance of Gurpreet Singh Prince Gummtala, President of Majha Welfare Society, the society’s medical advisor Dr. Chandresh Lakhera said that according to the Meteorological Department, this year’s summer season is expected to witness higher temperatures and stronger heatwaves than usual.
He stated that extreme heat may lead to dehydration, heatstroke, stomach-related illnesses, diarrhea, and an increase in eye-related problems among children. Therefore, people should take special care of their health during the summer season, drink plenty of water, and follow proper precautions while stepping outdoors.
Dr. Lakhera appealed to people to avoid the misuse of self-medication and said that free medical consultation can be sought from him regarding any illness. He also informed that free eye medicines would be provided for children suffering from eye-related problems.
He further stated that people can meet Dr. Chandresh Lakhera at the clinic located near Putlighar and Plaha Sahib Road, or they may contact any member of the Majha Welfare Society for assistance.
