Amritsar, April 27 (K.L. Jit Walia): A group of saints campaigning across the country to promote awareness about cow protection reached Shri Aarti Shiv Durga Mandir Trust, Kartar Nagar, Chheharta, under the guidance of Param Sant Advait Swaroop Shri Aarti Deva Maharaj.
The saints informed that a nationwide campaign has been launched in which 108 Gau saints have been assigned the responsibility of spreading awareness about the significance of cows over a period of two years. Each saint has been given charge of 7 to 8 districts. As part of this initiative, memorandums will be submitted on April 27, 2026, across nearly 5,000 tehsils in India, demanding that the cow be granted the status of ‘Rashtra Mata’ (Mother of the Nation).
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Aarti Deva Maharaj highlighted the importance of cows in Sanatan culture. He stated that the cow is not just an animal but a symbol of faith, culture, and motherhood. He emphasized that serving cows leads to the attainment of the four Purusharthas — Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha.
He also urged every individual in society to come forward for cow protection, service, and respect, stressing that collective efforts are necessary to preserve cultural and spiritual values.
On April 26, Gau Samman Diwas was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the temple. Devotees participated in cow worship, devotional singing, and other religious activities. Later, a memorandum was submitted to the Sub-Divisional Officer highlighting the demand.
Several prominent personalities were present during the event, including Dr. Rajkumar Verka, Amit Kumar, Councillor Satish Kumar Ballu, Councillor Sunita Devgan, Geeta Bhalla, Rajendra Sharma, Vishal Sharma, Monica Ved Vyas, Sukhdev Raj, Nitin, Harman Singh, and Janak Joshi.
Among the saints and organizers present were Sumit Shastri, Mahant Atma Prakashgiri Maharaj, Mahant Atmajyotigiri Maharaj, Mahant Jasveer Ji, Brijesh Bedi, President Balkrishna, Councillor Arvind Sharma, Manjit Singh Mittha, Mohanlal, Sohanlal, Devinder Billu, Pankaj Devsar, Rajesh Prabhakar, and many other devotees who attended in large numbers.
