Jit Walia):Renowned social worker and Municipal Councillor of Amritsar, Master Harpal Singh Verka, has returned safely to his residence in Verka, Amritsar, after making a full recovery from a successful liver transplant surgery. His return from Delhi in good health has brought immense joy not only to his family but also to the people of the entire Verka area and nearby localities.
A large number of local residents, social organizations, public representatives, and well-wishers expressed happiness over his recovery and prayed for his long life and continued good health.
It is noteworthy that Master Harpal Singh Verka underwent a highly sensitive and complex liver transplant surgery on December 29, 2025, at Medanta Hospital, Delhi. In a remarkable example of love, sacrifice, and humanity, his son Fateh Jang Singh donated a part of his liver to save his father’s life. This noble gesture has been widely appreciated from all quarters. According to doctors, the timely transplant proved to be life-saving and gave Master Verka a new lease on life.
At present, both Master Harpal Singh Verka and his son Fateh Jang Singh are completely healthy and recovering rapidly. Doctors have advised them to take complete rest for the next two months, follow regular medication, and strictly adhere to all medical precautions. Family members stated that all instructions given by the doctors are being followed with full sincerity.
This challenging and critical operation was successfully performed by India’s renowned liver transplant specialist Dr. Arvinder Singh Soin, who has carried out nearly 5,000 to 6,000 liver transplant surgeries so far. Dr. Soin is highly respected and trusted in the field of liver transplantation, both in India and abroad.
Expressing his emotions after his recovery, Master Harpal Singh Verka said that he is deeply grateful to IB DG Manmeet Singh Narang and Dr. Arvinder Singh Soin, who supported him at every level during this difficult phase and played a crucial role in helping him overcome the crisis. He said he would remain indebted to them for their support throughout his life.
Master Verka further added that during this challenging time, his friends, relatives, and well-wishers stood by him like a rock and continuously boosted his morale, giving him immense mental and emotional strength. Due to their collective support and prayers, he was able to return home in good health.
