Amritsar, July 24 (Uppal): A Miri-Piri Khalsa March dedicated to the Miri-Piri Day of the Sixth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, commenced from Sri Akal Takht Sahib after the conclusion of the Sri Akhand Path Sahib Bhog and a Gurmat Samagam held with great devotion and reverence. The march began under the spiritual leadership of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the guidance of the Panj Pyare, proceeding from Sri Akal Takht Sahib to Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabo.
The event witnessed the participation of Singh Sahibs, Jathedars, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President, Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal, senior leader Bikram Singh Majithia, and several prominent Sikh personalities.
Before the march commenced, Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj of Sri Akal Takht Sahib highlighted the symbolic significance of the two swords of Miri and Piri worn by Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, urging the Sikh community to remain committed to Gurmat values and their religious and social responsibilities. He stated that the objective of the Khalsa March is to spread the teachings of Sikhism and strengthen the connection of the Sikh community with the principles and directives of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
The march will pass through Hall Gate, Bhandari Bridge, Putlighar, Guru Nanak Dev University, Chheharta Sahib, Khasa, Gharinda, Attari, Sarai Amanat Khan, and several historic villages and Gurdwaras before halting for the night at Gurdwara Bir Baba Budha Sahib Ji, Thatta (Tarn Taran) on the first day. Devotees have made elaborate arrangements to welcome the procession at various locations.
The religious journey is being regarded as a significant initiative to spread the timeless message of Miri-Piri and the principles of Sri Akal Takht Sahib to people across the region.
